Its the wire. You can try taking the jack off an and making sure they are all in tight. I had to run a new one to one of my bedrooms. The phone only has to use limited frequencies and the DSL line requires a much higher amount.

It may be the power source or the DSL Modem are bad. For this to be checked out, you need to call your DSL Provider.

My question is, can I purchase any DSL Modem to use with my Verizon DSL service, or is their DSL service compatible with only certain modem brands?
I signed up for DSL through Verizon a few years back, and was sent a Modem from them. Now, I am experiencing frequent connection problems and Verizon is telling me it is my modem and they offered to sell me a new one.

My question is, can I purchase any DSL Modem to use with my Verizon DSL service, or is their DSL service compatible with only certain modem brands?

Also, I have a Linksys router. Do I need a modem compatible with it? Do they have modem/router combos I can buy? Any information is greatly appreciated!

you can buy a modem at radio shack,best buy etc. might be good to bring in the bad one you have
